From an education in New York and Europe to a professional background in public relations and advertising, Ms. Steel moved on quickly to her literary career and has been hard at work writing ever since. Often, she works on five books and several movies at a time--researching one storyline, writing another, and editing the third. Still, she often spends two to three years researching and developing a single project. In the heat of a first draft, it is not uncommon for her to spend 18 to 20 hours a day glued to her 1946 Olympia manual typewriter.
Ms. Steel maintains a high interest in the welfare and well-being of children. She has raised nine of her own. And they keep her busy, as she juggles writing and family. Ms. Steel leads a quiet family life and spends most of her time writing.

It sounds redundant to state that Danielle Steel's novel writing is getting worse and worse. As her popularity grows, so does her feeling of editorial need. She sells so many novels because so many people can't keep the attention span of a 300-page book. One doesn't have to think when reading her work. In fact if you forgot something she said, Mrs. Steel is BOUND to repeat it ad nauseam. Trust me.
"Sisters" is yet another of her latest novels which revolves around multiple women and numerous silly plot lines rotating in and around one “major event” that "shook their lives forever". Unfortunately all the action seems to happen within the first 3 chapters and you're just left waiting for everything to end from that point on. No one cares about their love for their dogs. You don’t understand the character of their mother long enough to feel bad about the tragedy that occurred. Even the corny jokes and phony "sisterly camaraderie" were groan worthy.
I suggest she stick to her previous work and stop with all of this drivel. The plot spun on and on and on until she felt like she'd had enough and wrapped it up in less than 10 pages. If she’d cut the middle out, it could’ve even passed for a mediocre short story. Instead, we get Annie and her cane and Tammy and her bicoastal job experience. Lazy lazy writing.
