Biography
Following the archetypal model for a "hard" science fiction writer, Glen David Brin has a science background--he has a B.S. in astronomy from the California Institute of Technology, an M.S. in applied physics from U.C. San Diego, and a Ph.D. in space science. He has worked as an engineer at the Hughes Aircraft Company, given lectures on topics ranging from ecology to extraterrestrial life, and served on numerous advisory committees dealing about the "information superhighway." A Reader wrote a review on Alas, Babylon
i enjoyed reading this book. although i don't consider this the work of a "master writer" it was easy to read and made me think about how i would react if a similar event occurred in real life.
