Novelist Ted Heller is the son of Joseph Heller.

Born and raised in the Coney Island section of Brooklyn, Heller attended City College and flew 60 bombing missions for the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. Out of that experience came CATCH-22, largely ignored by critics and public at first, but soon widely celebrated as the first truly comic war novel; he wrote a sequel to it, CLOSING TIME, in 1994. Another book I had been meaning to read for a while - really wish I had done it earlier. Absolutley hilarious in some of the more farcial moments, which was awesome, and a bit surreal towards the end.
