I read both books in turn, A thousand splendid sun followed by the kite runner. the memory of Meriam nad Leila was fresh in my mind. I always felt the lives of Marriam, Leila and Hassen are crossing each other and the emotion of their sudden encounter and chit chat overwhelmed me everytime.Particularily, when Amir witnesses the execution of a women in the stadium i felt it was Mariam.

Amazing, extremely gripping and changed my view towards Afghanistan and I'm craving for more:) I read A Thousand Splended Suns and Loved it. It was so good, so graphic, so gripping that I panicked when I approached the end of the book because I didnt want it to end. I then bought the Kite Runner. Competely different direction, but an excellent book nonetheless. I was very excited to see that a movie is being adapted from the book. I am desperately waiting for Khaled to write another book... I think his authoring skills are superb. I'm a fan A thousand Splendid Suns is the most wonderful book i have ever red.A special story that talks about women. I just started reading A Thousand Splendid Suns and I can't stop reading it.. I'm looking for more in Mariam jo's lfe.. |
