Olive Ann Burns graduated from the University of North Carolina with a journalism degree and wrote for the Atlanta Journal. In 1976 she was diagnosed with an unexpected illness, and she decided to write a novel. COLD SASSY TREE grew out of her own family history and is modeled on the town of Commerce, Georgia. The sequel, LEAVING COLD SASSY, was Burns's final work before her death.
A sleeper which was published while I was living in Atlanta. Beautifully written, and it's a story you won't want to end.
Wonderful. Wonderfully written. I was sad when it ended because I wouldn't have it to read anymore.
