With flat Earth as official geography, a drakkar falling over a waterfall at the end of the world marks a commonplace event. A ship attempting a voyage to the end of the world is expected to fall over. There would be no way to prove this theory except for firm belief in flat Earth that persists to this day in our civilized society.
As belief does not require proof, one can believe in the man on the Moon, Santa or the bogeyman. Where models1 stop, one falls over. Popular circular models suggest comforting repetition, as archetypal events recoil as if backwards and towards their initial position. Often, an initial position is set by the priests, such as the beginning of the world in Vedic, biblical or Chinese cosmogony.
While spiral models may help imagination at some level, the event horizon is by far more complicated than the simple change of seasons. Even seasons have been laid into a Procrustean bed, most remarkably in ancient China, in order to enchant the weather towards orderly repetition. It seems that at some point the same happened to the zodiac.
As the zodiac does not require proof in a popular mind, it is greatly assumed that the twelve zodiacal signs rise at east. Of course, the world abounds with superstition, but false zodiacality is a most dangerous issue. What happens when someone is told one's false zodiacal positions? One of course identifies with them. The masses are prevented from suspecting information passed on as false. As in the case of hollow earth, less than a century ago, precisely because everybody is made to believe in such a nonsense, false belief persisted. Again, belief does not require proof. One that is hopelessly dependent on a system of disinformation will gladly die in defending “one's own beliefs”.
Blind faith will reject proofs, deduction and science, while embracing propaganda. Superstition is contrary to scientific proof. As the majority lacks a scientific, and therefore magical mind2, the masses are susceptible to all kind of superstition. When firmly installed in one's mind3 as open to any suggestion, belief will become part of the ego complex4. In that way, people are ready to die for just any nonsense5.
Let us take for an example someone who has been told that he is a “Scorpio”. Such a victim of bad astrology will be convinced that one's own traits coincide with the “Scorpio” sign. It does not matter that one's own natal Sun is in Virgo and not any “Scorpio” at all, since normal persons tend to associate with others in popular belief. If everybody sustains flat Earth, who am I to oppose?
The belief in twelve zodiacal signs rising at east goes well with flat Earth in assisting the denial of precession and common sense. Unfortunately for them “believers”, ingenious mathematical proofs as to the roundness of Earth abound from ancient times. Even the Holy Bible sustains that the Earth is a globe. It is therefore easy to prove that there is nothing like the twelve rising signs ascending at east, the latter being an arbitrary assumption ideated for mass consumption of the lowest astrological superstition. Therefore, any astrologer walking into Greenwich observatory is well-advised to leave all superstition behind.

1The zodiacal model is often represented as a sort of flat pizza cut. Of course, it is understood that the colored representations of the twelve zodiacal stations have nothing to do with the real natal sky.
2True mind in RTRRT literature.
3For false ego and true mind, see the RTRRT literature.
4False ego as based on superstition, turbulent thinking and Maya. Again, refer to RTRRT literature, especially True Mind Distiller.
5Or nonsensei, that is false guru. The phenomenon of false prophets is particularly actual in the present Age of Cetus III. After the age of nuclear submarine wars, a light will fall from the sky on the trail of Venus in Pegasus. This new age is due very soon. The next Lord of the Æon is the ruler of the Age of Pegasus. The Age of Aquarius is due in 640 years from now.
