Tragic and compelling. They never have relief from invasion.
A thousand Golden Suns, is almost unreadable due to the hardship of women and any human being.

I recently read both the Kite runner and a thousand splendid suns.
Both of these books were compelling, it gave me a great insight into how life is in Afganistan.
The story line had me in tears, tinged with moments of joy. War destroys people, it takes along time for nation to recover.
Khaled wrote these books with such honesty and stories from the heart.

Most heart wrenching,soul-touching story i hv evr evr read.....normal people lk us get to knw abt life in Afganistan b4 Taliban rules n aftr.
These books sumtimes make u cry,sumtimes mk u feel lk HEAVEN,the best thing abt KHALED is,his stories relate so easily with his readers..they cn feel the pain inside the stories.

reading this book spoiled me for other readings. during the end i slowed down just to prolong the reading,feeling scared-----,if i dont find another read like this what will i do!'----it is so good that i present it to my dearest friends---the language, the sensitivity of expressions, the touching story---all take you right in the heart of the struggle & you feel like hugging the poor, tormented boy!!!!!!!
