"My Favourite Wife” holds up a mirror to life in Shanghai that a lot of ex-pats will find hard to look at, but it had me subway-station-missing-hooked throughout and says more about the city than any guide book."
A quotaition from the Shanghaiist
Its alright I guess.. but I am not sure about the ending. To me the book lost steam somewhere in teh middle and teh author seems to be unsure how to end the book. We all know it was going to end badly so..
Tony Parsons does characters so well. On one hand you want to crucify them and then they remind you of yourself! Great characters and writing what characters are thinking. Enjoyed it!!
Wonderful book. The story made me feel sorry one minute for Becca and the next for Jinjin. An insight into the world of Shanghai from different aspects.
