Read this before your next reunion to revisit how our perceptions can be so vastly different from those who we "knew." It's not possible to predict how others perceive the past, its impact on them now, or whether they even relate to it in a similar way (or at all).

An average book and bit of a disappointment to me. Kundera starts exploring the idea of emigrants not being home eihter in their new country and in homeland, but doesn't manage to make much out of it. The book finishes with the biggest fault of Kundera's: Whenever he wants to use distraction effect he uses sex. And there it's not only a distraction effect, for Kundera, all these sex...more
