Kundera starts exploring the idea of emigrants not being home eihter in their new country and in homeland, but doesn't manage to make much out of it. The book finishes with the biggest fault of Kundera's: Whenever he wants to use distraction effect he uses sex. And there it's not only a distraction effect, for Kundera, all these sex scenes at the end are somehow the point of his story. Too short and undeveloped.
