This book radically changed my life 17-years ago.I became a vegetarian and an advocate of animal rights the very same day I finished reading it. Dr. Peter Singer liberated both myself and the animals. A must read for everyone.

Can get a bit dry, but one of the most objective books on the subject (if not completely impartial). I finished reading this book for the first time when I was 13, became a vegetarian the next day, and never looked back! If that's not the very definition of "a life-changing read", I don't know what is.

An animal right, Vegetarian, Vegan Bible
Excellent read for people into animal rights and/or liberation, there is a difference that is described in the book.  Especially for people that are just starting out with that political mind set.  Definitely a read.
