A mediocre Marian Keyes novel that equates to a great chic-flick. Though Lucy, the main character is incredibly selfish, dimwitted and ignorant one can't help but like but like the over dramatic Irish girl. Through the novel Lucy falls into trap after trap and after a while it's just embarrassing. However, a lovely ending that will leave readers finally satisfied with Lucy's...more

Rather disappointed with this after being in awe of some of Keyes' other work; the plot is quite predictable, but perhaps this is what makes the reader able to relate to the characters easily and understand the character of Lucy. Funny moments, happy moments, sad moments ... not earth-shattering but great entertainment for a lazy Sunday morning. 6/10

Marian keyes. Irish. Dry. Side splittingly candid, ironic, funny without trying... She writes the most sophisticated chic lit ever. She can have you dropping a tear on one page and laughing your socks off on the next. Ive read all her books and am eagerly awaiting her next one,,, which is way overdue

this book was ok. there were random points where it really lost my interest. it would be really good for a while and then it would get boring and/or weird. i think it could have been a lot shorter, there was a lot of irellevant stuff that i forgot about until the end which was too abrupt. atleast the plot was decent. basically, there were a lot of pointless fillers to the storyline.

I was a little disappointed in this book. I didn't find it as engaging as the other Marian Keyes books I've read (Watermelon and Rachel's Holiday). It took me a long time to get into this book, mostly because I didn't like the characters. This book's saving grace was that it did contain enough of Marian Keyes' wonderful humor to keep me reading to the end!
