Another lovely book by Marian Keyes dealing with the Walsh Family. Middle Child Rachel, after what she considers 'recreational drug taking' find herself in a drug/alcohol/gambling/food rehabilitation center. Hold the glamor and ritz. This type of book is normally of no interest to me but after reading "Anybody Out There" my attraction to Marian Keyes' writing is instantaneous. Rachel's Holiday is my second and once I go back to my usual reads I will definitely check back on other Marian Keyes book every now and again. Marian Keyes has a lighthearted approach to her writing where "real life" is woven into great humour. One...more

This is the first Marian Keyes book I ever read and I must say it's still my fav, even though its the second in the Walsh Family series you don't have to have read Watermelon to understand this family. I loved every bit of this book> I find it hard alot of the time to laugh.... i mean when i really mean it and not just put on....i really did laugh out loud to this book but why stop there .... read them all. They take a different member of the family in each book and its just full time pain in your face like you were a kid sort of laughs. ( but not really for kids) Come back to me on this one...more

This series of books is amazing. I love the stories about this family. Each sister has a unique presence in the structure of the family and each book gives insight of each sister's perspective. Rachel's Holiday is amazing because it allows you to the world of addiction and not in a shiny hollywood sense.
