Criss Cross (Newbery Medal Book)

It was very, very slow. My friend gave this book to me for my birthday, highly recommending it. I gave it a try, and couldn't get past the first 30 pages. After awhile, I attempted to read it again, to no avail. I've given up on it, and while it may get better later, I just can't force myself to read past the slow beginning. It was very, very slow. My friend gave this book to me for my birthday, highly recommending it. I gave it a try, and couldn't get past the first 30 pages. After awhile, I attempted to read it again, to no avail. I've given up on it, and while it may get better later, I just can't force myself to read past the slow beginning. The characters (as far as I read) are likable, but the frequent perspective switches can get confusing. This sounds a bit corny, but I understand that this is a book about a girl wishing for something to happen... the whole time I tried to read this book, I was wishing for something mildly interesting to happen. :P This definitely wasn't my type of book.   hide

i didn't like it and wouldn't recommend it it had no plot at all and the characters weren't very interesting at all...except for one...i liked Hector's character and that is the only reason i gave it the one star that i did NOT a must read
