more I read it, and did not enjoy it. Its narrative was a mish mash of ideas. I thought it would explore the natural world more than it did (as per blurb on back of novel) and have the main character elevating the influence of nature over human, but rather it concerntrated on the main characters (authors) sexuality, and what that meant for his place in the world. I don't give a hoot as to whether the main character is gay or straight, if I want to explore gay issues I will read The Gay Times. I want a decent supernatural story to be the focus, not his struggle in San-fran. Clive let me down this time.
