This, the third of the Chronicles of Narnia, is a fun adventure, with children fleeing on talking horses from a pseudo-middle Eastern society into a vaguely medieval European one. Aslan the Lion as God seems a little weird though not strictly Christian. The Eurocentric sense of superiority felt dated. Odd how Lewis wrote them and had them published in a different order than the way they are now...more

I felt that this one dragged a bit. While the other stories in the chronicles seem to fit together, this felt out of place. It is still the vintage stylings of Lewis, but there's something missing.

First really solidly written book in the Narnia series. This book creates some wonderful imagery and has some sly humor. I really ejoyed this book.
