Aslan is a powerful representation of Christ, and the adventure for the four children is exciting. It's certainly not a typical child fantasy novel, but it was a great read if you ask me. I remember being frightened by the White Witch and feeling rescued with Aslan returned in the end. It's a great parallel to Christianity, geared for children's minds and fantasy. I wish I'd continued the series, but I never did for some reason. I saw the movie recently, and I enjoyed it - they did a nice job of making the book a motion picture and it didn't really steer from the book's storyline that I can remember.
