A great book for fantasy lovers, by Kim Harrison. First in "The Hollows" series. It introduces us to Rachel Morgan, and her friends Jenks and Ivy. Exciting and written with a vivid imagination, I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy novels. In fact, this is the second book of this series I have read (out of order, obviously), and would recommend the series.

Kim Harrison is one of my favorite authors and I can't wait to read more from her!

The action was fast paced and didn't bore me at all. The writing style was a little simplistic at times though and the story seemed to be missing parts at times. Sometimes the characters didn't have much depth to them and at other times they were as complex as real people. The variation was kind of disconcerting at times. I would recommend this book to people that like fantasy, but not before I recommended a few other series first.   hide

LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT

I usually detest witch/vampire fantasy lit, but began flipping through my then-GF's copy of DEAD WITCH WALKING, and ended up reading the entire thing in one sitting. Believable, sympathetic characters; a real-life setting; terrific world-building; an engrossing plot; and a lesbian subtext -- what's not to love?

Really Good. Only problem is I can't wait to find out what happens with Trent!

I love Kim Harrison!! Definitely recommend this series!
