Christopher Moore is a brilliant writer.  I have yet to read one of his books that I didn't thoroughly enjoy.

now that I've finished it, i have to say it lives up to his standards and i thought it was really good, i tend to not finish a book unless i like it so me saying that this isn't one of my favorites is not saying that it wasn't a good book, just not the best he has wrote.
