If you remember while reading it that it was written it 1980s, you have a very high probability of liking it.
Will definitely keep you fixed from the beginning till the very end. A great read. It is one of its kind amidst so many espionage tales. If you have a weekend free, I would recommend this.
The very first adult book I ever read. My mom gave it to me to read. I think the theme may have been a bit to adult for me (I was 12 or 13 at the time). I am debating whether I should reread this book and see what I think about it today as an adult. On the other hand, there is something a bit magical about my initiation to the world of adult reading that I don't really want to ruin.
Brilliant! I was hooked from the very first page! Die Nadel, or the Needle, is without a doubt one of the best fictionous spies I have ever read about. Follet effortlessly allows us to see the world through the eyes of a Professional Cold-blooded spy in one instant and in another, through those of a beautiful but misrable woman seeking affection.
I rated this book well because of the superb way that Follett weaved his story. It didn't get its fifth star because, well, I predicted the ending. To be fair, Follett gave some ingenious clues, and most people wouldn't notice it.
