To hear Dan speak in person really brings to life the message in his writings. This book, without exception, is phenomenal. If you have ever been to the Eastern Bloc of Europa then you may have a sense of what it would take to journey via horse in search of your nemesis. This story of, what was to be, revenge alters direction. Socrates has many realizations from his days on the island living with a master warrior...he learns all the tricks to defending himself physically. All the way he learns much more about himself. This book is amazing, it is written in novel form but really helps to connect together how special the story of Socrates and Dan Millman is.. in relation to 'The Way of the Peaceful Warrior'. One of the most inspiring reads you will ever read on: courage, hope, inner strength, human emotion, and finding peace. Highly recommended read.

The third in the series of the Peaceful warrior saga, but the first chronologically. If you've read the other peaceful warrior books, you can guess right away where the focus of this book lies. My review won't do it justice, you owe it to yourself to spend some time with Dan Millman's literature.

Was not near as inspirational as Way of the Peaceful Warrior, but overall good read for its own story.
