Maybe I just haven't experienced the United States the way he did. However, I've driven coast to coast round trip twice, one-way once, to California round trip three times, one of those by motorcycle. In addition, I probably did as many family road trips as a kid as he did, including Washington D.C. to Washington state when my parents settled near Seattle in 1966. I find something interesting almost everywhere I wind up in the U.S.A., but he seems quick to pass judgement if a town or park does not meet his specific and personal needs.
I also was surprised by some pretty insensitive, unfunny comments a couple of times.
Overall it was worth reading but once was enough.
