I love the Discworld Series, especially the books with the Night Watch. It's really a detective story in a fantasy/science fiction setting. Men at Arms is the second book on the Night Watch (Guards! Guards! was the first). I really got hooked on the characters in this book.
This was the first Pratchett I ever read. It just got me hooked on his books.
With new characters, further development of old characters, and a murder to be solved, it has pace and really draws the reader into the world of Pratchett's Disworld.
this is typical pratchett, which is a huge compliment. it's funny and has a large cast of characters that manage to pull things together to solve the mystery of who did what when and how. even though prratchett rarely deviates from his formula, it never ceases to entertain me.
This is absolutely one of Pratchett's best books. Although this book is not as humorous as the previous book "Guards, Guards" what Pratchett did for humor in that book, he did for plot in this one. Sam Vimes is one of my all time favorite characters ever.
fun. carrot is lovable in a shake your head sort of a way. The probability in it seems too silly for words but i really thoroughly enjoyed this one. My favourite by far
