Clive Barker delivers the goods yet again. I read this years ago and couldn't wait to read the second part, Everville, which is equally amazing. A fantastic read, I really enjoyed the first half of the book. Towards the end I started getting kind of bored with it but nevertheless, Clive succeeds at what he does best..that is, creating images and ideas in the readers mind that will really make you want to look beyond what your eye sees and understand the unknown.

Enjoyable. The imagining and detail of the fantastic amid the mundane is impressive.

I love the idea of the postal clerk discovering the world's great truth - this was the best part. The rest of the story is okay, too.
