Dear Goddess above, thank you for this book. This is the book that every woman who has felt excluded from the patriarchal language and structure of church--or society, for that matter--needs. It's about time we redefined our idea of God, and reconstructed the hierarchies that we've so long taken for granted.

One of my favorite memoirs. A well told tale of a woman finding strength beyond what is allowed her in the church of her upbringing. I want ALL my girlfriends to read this book, whether they are religious or not.

A book about a woman gaining spiritual strength through self reflection and study. It's uplifting without being cloying.
