A fantastic book, and infinitely better than the sentimental treatment it received in the movie. Also, you need to know more about wave and storm dynamics...so here you go.
This is by far the best novel-length journalism I have ever read. Anything he doesn't know, you know he doesn't know. But when he pieces together what might have happened, it's perfect.
We read this in our bookgroup in February 2009. With the caveat of rough language and lifestyle, this is an intriguing read. I liked the side story just as much as the main one of the Andrea Gail. The rescue mission and then the rescue mission of them! Good writing!
