This is a brilliant children's book. Adults will love it too. Harry Potter? I don't think so...Buy it, read it, share it. If you like this, you'll like Barker's new Abarat books too.

This book was assigned reading for 7th grade. I loved the book so much that I looked for a copy of it in bookstores for years. FINALLY, this past year, I got my own copy, I have read it three times since then and I still love it. So, yes, I would recommend it to anyone. I don't care if it's not my age group, I love it.

A VERY DARK Adult-type Children's fantasy (Think SCARY Harry Pottter on a MUCH better/deeper level)... one of my favorites! An amazing read. Warning: Extremely difficult to put down after you open it
