Having seen "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe", and thoroughly enjoying it, I was eager to read the actual Chronicles. I loved this book and have continued to love it since the first read when I was very young. It is a beautiful, exciting, whirlwind ride, and was always my favorite chronicle. My copy is so worn and beat up because I would crave it, and then devour it in less than two hours. Sometimes just to visit that wood between worlds.

A stunning allegory of the creation of the world and the problem of evil; I read this when I was a little girl, and I was astonished to find out how much more I liked it when I became an adult. If you haven't read this, I would strongly suggest reading it; if you already have, read it again!

C. S. Lewis considers this the first in the Chronicals of Narnia. So far it's my favorite. I sometimes wish I had a pool to jump into, so I could escape to an enchanted land!! (who doesn't?)
