Very interesting story... Though it is a simple one, the writer has narrated the thuoghts of concern and fear which secretly we have some where in our mind which makes us to take many actions.... few planned.... few unplanned!!!

I finally read this classic book. I am very happy that I did. One can not say that the ending is a happy one but it also is not really a sad one; not completely at least. The book looks at life in the 1930s in the south. Along the way topics that are looked at are: racial prejudice, social class, sacrifice, sociology, condoned addiction, acceptance.  I finally read this classic book. I am very happy that I did. One can not say that the ending is a happy one but it also is not really a sad one; not completely at least. The book looks at life in the 1930s in the south. Along the way topics that are looked at are: racial prejudice, social class, sacrifice, sociology, condoned addiction, acceptance. I am particularly impressed by the way the author was able to tell her tale with warmth and humour while conveying a myriad of messages and not sounding preachy. I am sure her novel has softened many willing hearts. Very glad I read it.   hide

I'm sure I had to read this in highschool and I sort of remember it but I am rereading it and it is wonderful (of course) ....I like to think there is a little Scout in each of us.
