The Last Don

The Underworld and Hollywood stuff, Mafia all over again....an interesting read, but the description of Gambling, mafia business etc were not comprehensible, perhaps for an ignorant reader... Beautifully written, pure genius Puzo is... has paralleled The Godfather in writing, but not neared its status... This is a book only Mario Puzo could have written........ The Ending was damn good!

Excellent read... another masterful tale of story telling by the mafia folk lore legend himself ... Puzo.

Very entertaining story. A bit long winded, but if you liked "The Godfather", you'll like this, too.

Leads the reader on an interesting insight into the values and ethics of the mafia in a far explorative manner...Don Clericuzio steals the show with his planning and foresight...

It is always surprising how dichotomized or schizophrenic all those religious families can be. They give absolute devotion to the family, but they can wipe it all in one moment if the codes have been broken. There is no place for empathy, for forgiveness

Somehow i remembered that i've seen the movie adaptation of this book and how i couldn't concentrate or actually more of not in the mood to continue on reading this book since i kept on seeing the images of the movie in my head.. the loss of suspense to the end of this story made me return the book after reading the first 20 pages.. the movie's kinda nice.. so for this i just give it...more

Somehow i remembered that i've seen the movie adaptation of this book and how i couldn't concentrate or actually more of not in the mood to continue on reading this book since i kept on seeing the images of the movie in my head.. the loss of suspense to the end of this story made me return the book after reading the first 20 pages.. the movie's kinda nice.. so for this i just give it 2 STARS   hide
