The Iliad (Penguin Classics)

One of the best book ever written. I couldn't put it down. Highly recommend reading this. Not only is it a good read, but you can use it's ideology in many papers and other things later in life. Please buy this book. My life depends on it.

A wonderful cliffhanger. Read a canto a day for maximum thrills. Recommend Fagles translation of the Odyssey and Anaeid as well. No dusty volumns these but great vivid yarns that entrance!

Fagles translation achieves an effective balance among meter/style, dedication to the original text, and contemporary language. A great way to inaugurate yourself with this epic, or epics in general.
