Golding's allegorical novel(la) presents some interesting ideas about human nature and behavior, but it was probably more controversial when it was published in 1954... However, it is a very easy read and definately gets you thinking.
A true classic, but very interesting. Boys will be boys, or murderers. Whichever you prefer. A twist on the survival of the fittest, when human instinct and morals collide.
