The spider licks her lips and some people see that as sexual? I never did. I don't think I remember next time I read the book to remember that spider is a sex bomb. I really don't think 10-years-olds think that way.

James is disobedient towards her guardians? His guardians abuse him severely and should never have been let near a child. If a child is being abused by his parents HE SHOULD BE DISOBEDIENT AND GET HIMSELF OUT OF THE HOUSE. Children have died because they have obeyed insane rules. ADULTS have died because they have obeyed insane rules.
