Trollope is great, but this is not the best book in the Barchester series. The characters are well-developed, but there is a significant lack of resolution.

Not bad. Definitely different and interesting. I am surprised that it doesn't have the more familiar Trollopian ending.

A lot of events happen in this novel that would probably not happen today, at least not in that way. My first Trollope novel - a hugely enjoyable read. Housework has been neglected this week. Now intend to read the rest of the Barsetshire series. Recommended to anyone who enjoys victorian novels

I prefer his Palliser novels, but this unofficial member of the Barchester series is quite entertaining and well paced.
