After reading countless books, in which Mr. Sherlock holmes was made fun of for his precise handling of cases, i finally turned my attention to perusing, perhaps, the greatest collection of detective fiction, yet percieved... Every new fictional detectives that we come across draws something from from him, and yet none can emulate this character of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle... A must read for all...more

I enjoyed the Adventures section of the book better than the memoirs but there are plenty of good stories to keep the reader interested. Stories like "The Adventure of the Speckled Band" and "The Naval Treaty" are among the best. Well worth the read.
