One Hundred Years of Solitude (Penguin Modern Classics)

A difficult read but once you get into it...it takes you into a different world where its people are eclectic in nature. A world of gold and the circus and of desire. A must read.

Excellent book. Great play of the imagination with old time socila values meeting a strange modern world. Makes you apart of a family tree taking part from when the grandparents met right down to the great grand children. Funny and touching.

A great book, it takes a while to get going, but every moment is interesting. Simply left me wonder what would happen next. It is well worth the read if you enjoy books that take their time. Marvellous

Really easy-to-read narrative covering the rise and fall of the Buendía family. Enjoyed the ‘magical realism’, although I found it confusing as almost all the descendents were Aurelianos or Arcadios!

GOD! So dull. Couldn't finish it, which is unheard of for me. It's like those bits they always cut out of bible stories; so-an-so married so-and-so and they had a million kids called blah, blah, blah... And they married so-and-so... Honestly, what is all the fuss about?

This is one of my favorite books, it really gave me insight to one of the best sides of magic realism... :D

I bow down in all reverence to the indecribable dexterity of Marquez to spin a plot of this quality that possesses the rare attribute to rivet the reader to the story..........One read is actually not enough........
