The BFG is one of those books that you might have read in 2nd grade, and then want to reread it again and again over the years. It never seems to lose its magic and gives the reader a warm feeling of childhood happiness. Out of all the Roald Dahl books that have come along, this one is by far my favorite. The BFG is such a likeable character that he draws you in to keep reading. It is very possible to get so carried away that you might read this whole book in one sitting.    hide

I loved it! Just as charming as when I read it during 3rd grade. This is my favorite book by him since I was little. I always wanted to meet a BFG after I read the book and used to peek out my window every night for about a week after I read it to try and find one giving one of my neighbor friends a dream.

This was the first really long book I read for fun (well, it seemed long at the time) although I always remember being annoyed at the idea that it was possible to go somewhere not on the map. That aside, I loved the imagination and the story telling, and that was the most important thing, of course.

My favorite Roald Dahl book and I think I've read pretty much all of them. What an amazing author with a vivid imagination that really appealed to me as a child and probably still would. Just remembering this book makes me want to pick it up again. Fabulous.
