My kids loved it!

I love this book. It has all the elements of a good children's story. An ordinary event--factory owner seeks an heir to takeover his business after he's gone--is made extraordinary with vivid imagery, hyperbole, magic, and wit.

I really liked this book. Roald Dahl did a terrific job at really catching the readers attention. And the story just kept on getting more and more interesting. I absolutely loved this book.

I read this novel in my seventh standard and being a chocolate freak I didn’t just liked the work of Roald Dahl but absolutely loved it. Roald Dahl has successfully captured all the dreams, imagination and fantasies of childrens, which they possess in early childhood. Story absolutely marvels and stuns the readers at suspense full twist and turns and readers find themselves absolutely glued to book particularly when Charlie’s visit to Mr. Wonka’s Chocolate Factory and event leading him to win the world most best and top ranked chocolate factory run by an unknown specie to the world (Omapa lompas). This book is definitely worth reading for young childrens who not just dream being into fantasy world in nite but also love craving all kind of sweet chocolate during the day.   hide

I read this aloud to my sons at an important juncture in our lives to illustrate to them why obnoxious, rude, and thoughtless people are universally disliked. Also, that one mistake in a well lead life may get a pass (after all Charlie does slip up.) Too bad there aren't REALLY oompa-loompas around telling people what dumbasses they are. another roald dahl classic.I have long been a great fan of Roald Dahl’s book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and consider myself a bit of an expert, for I must have read the book ten times, while at the same time eating lots and lots of chocolate bars. This story follows the adventures of excessively poor, but well-loved and level-headed youngster Charlie Bucket, his four grandparents, who take up space in a large bed, and mom and dad who live with him in a ramshackle dwelling on the edge of a London-esque town.   hide

I love this book. If I need to name a book that changed me most, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory must be the one. (Hmm.... one of the "most") Why? This is the very book that brought me into the world of English book. I love this book. If I need to name a book that changed me most, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory must be the one. (Hmm.... one of the "most") Why? This is the very book that brought me into the world of English book. I still remebered how 'we' met: I was wandering in the library and passed by the English section, there it was, lying at the corner of a bookshelf. If I was taller, I would have missed it (well, believe it or not, I was the shortest girl at primary six). The cover strucked me, may be it was the book's name, may be it was the cute drawing, and I borrowed it and just love it. I love Charlie, he was poor but happy. I love Willy Wonka, he was so nice and so adorable. Then I went for the second book "Charlie and the Glass Elevator"... and went on and on and read a lot of English book since then.   hide
