By using her finger and little whiz bang shots of magic (not unlike the eyes of Matilda), she teaches the trio a lesson through the use of the Golden Rule; treat others the way you want to be treated, even if those "others" are not human-- which could bring up an interesting topic. A fine example of a lesson in empathy, this marvelous short story is conceptually quite manageable for your youngest of readers. Quite comically illustrated and bizarrely absurd, the storyline will capture a small mind's interest.   hide
