How can one not fall in love with the incredible quirkiness and free-spirit of Miss Blossom Culp? She is a small-town girl from the wrong side of the tracks who finds herself in possession of the Second Sight--an ability that allows her to see ghosts and different periods of time. Sounds dismal and spooky, but this has bizarre characters aplenty to keep it fun as well as poignant.

Though technically the second in the series after The Ghost Belonged to Me, Ghosts I Have Been feels rather like a fresh start since Peck switches to the far more interesting narrative voice of Blossom Culp. And if what follows this switch is simply a series of set pieces, they at least hang together well and serve to entertain. Good for a chuckle, and a light introduction to early 20th century...more
