This book made my childhood so many kinds of amazing. I read it over and over, wanting to live this life. It's the only reason I know anything about nature. Sure the story is fantastical and mildly implausible (especially in today's society), but Craighead-George keeps such a down-to-earth, realistic tone and feel, that you're willing to completely give that all up and believe that a ten year old...more
 This book made my childhood so many kinds of amazing. I read it over and over, wanting to live this life. It's the only reason I know anything about nature. Sure the story is fantastical and mildly implausible (especially in today's society), but Craighead-George keeps such a down-to-earth, realistic tone and feel, that you're willing to completely give that all up and believe that a ten year old boy could trap a deer and train a falcon for survival.   hide
