I was really amazed when I got around to reading this in my early college days. I'd read most of the others when I was in high school and this is one of my tops of JA.

after not reading Austen for ages, Persuasion was probably the best choice for me to get back into it. the story is simpler than Pride and Prejudice, yet told with sympathy for its heroine, Anne Elliot. Austen's disdain of the pretensions and hypocrisy of high society is evident by her portrayal of Sir Walter, Elizabeth and Mr Elliott. A very pleasant read.
