Simple to a fault. Nothing significant truly happens, and we are left with a beautifully descriptive finale with a WTF conclusion.

This was required reading for my 11th-grade American Lit class. I started it optimistically but sure that it would be unbearably bearing or difficult. I was pleasantly surprised. This book was fascinating and at points, a bit of a tear-jerker. The movie has nothing on the book.
