Great Brain,The

It is a decent book for junior high kids. There are a few words to skip over that may prove a little inappropriate and a situation or two that they can learn a bad idea from. With supervision, it is a decent book.

A favorite from my childhood. I modeled myself after the boy in these books.

I really enjoyed this book; I thought that how the boys acted out thier insecurites through violence -and a false idea of what it means to be couragous- can be kind of shocking... however, most boys do. I really enjoyed this book; I thought that how the boys acted out thier insecurites through violence -and a false idea of what it means to be couragous- can be kind of shocking... however, most boys do. I like the redemtion theme: "The Great Brain's Reformation." It makes the story. This is really, a great piece of literature, teaching values of tolerance, community, patriotism (which I don't consider a value at all but that can be overlooked), intellegence and its worth, hope, and most importantly: charity, or active love.   hide

Hey, don't knock it. I am reading it to my sixth grade class - a pretty good read for that age.
