Can you say “road trip”? After his 19th break-up with his 19th Katherine, Colin sets out on a road trip with his best, and only friend, Hassan. Much laughter ensues. They leave Chicago and stop in Gutshop, TN, to visit the grave of Archduke Ferdinand and end up staying awhile.
Colin is a nerdy, anagramming child prodigy who has trouble in relationships. He’s always being “dumped” by the Katherines he chooses to date. After graduating from high school, he is convinced by Hassan to go on a road trip to get over being the “dumpee” once again. They stay in Gutshop because they’ve been offered jobs with a weekly $500.00 pay check. While in Gutshop, Colin decides to work on a theorem to predict who will be the “dumper” and who will be the “dumpee”, all based on his experiences with his 19 different Katherines.
If you want to remember when it felt like to be a high school student and a boatload of laughs, this book is highly recommended. Think city boys meet the country folks and their lifestyle.
