more I read a lot of Amy Tan's books when I was younger. So many that I forgot which ones I've read. Why? Because I realized that all of her works are really one dimensional. There's an Asian girl (most likely Chinese), who is in love with an American man, and her Asian mother disapproves. The relationship between mother and daughter is strained until something happens where they all accept their differences. There's mother-daughter bickers and some sort of great sex between the two lovers. I've concluded that's the premises of all her books.
