Immediately one of my favorites. Steinbeck's writing is my type of literature. I learned from this piece: about this particular point in history and about great writing.
Such an amazing eye opener. Hard to believe that there was ever a time like this in America...and the characters become so close to the reader. I don't think we are woven from the same cloth as these types of people. It's a shocking glance at the past...
