It's seriously just the best book in the universe. Because i said so. Alice in Wonderland was a childrens book written for adults and so is the little prince - Alice in wonderland was arrogant but the little prince reads like a revelation so you can't even be offended by its genius because its so subtle. It's seriously poignant. I don't use that word often because i don't really know what it means and i like to fully understanda word in all context before i use it. Like spadge. Thats why i use it so much. But anyway, poignant to me simply means somethign that moves you in a really gentle, sophisicated way. Not say like requiem for a dream - which has so much shock value you require sedatives to handle it at the end. This book is written with such simple, matter of fact language but it reads like poetry on certain pages. Not many books make you miss something about what you were or who you are but this seems to affect you at the end - you remember the time you were like this, but know that if you'd never changed you never would have understood how perfect it was. Anyway its so awesome i've considered learning fluent french just so i can raed it as was intended. 11 mutated thumbs up   hide

This weekend I got a great book. It is a book for people of all ages, children, teens, young adults, adults of all ages young and old. This book is found in the children's books. It is an old book. I learned about this book from James Dean. It is said to be his favorite book, it was his Bible. He underlined quotes, phrases and in person he would use them in talking. This is a famous book. The writer is a famous writer. It is written in many different languages. The book is called "The Little Prince" By : Antoine De Saint-Exupery. Every one should read this book once in there life. I am glad I own it and read it. From time to time I now I will read it again. I am sure you will love it too.    hide

It's one of the few books that I've read that makes me sad and cry everytime I read it. I haven't reread it for a few years now... maybe I should pick it up again. My reason? Too busy with matters of consequence. When I was a child, I found it annoying that I had to explain everything to the adults. I was so glad that I found this book, it shared similar views with me. So is the book for adults or children? I would believe that it depends on the individual. Read it and find out. I believe that by reading the little prince, it has kept a part of me alive. It reminds me who I was and who I will always will be. I would advise to start reading the little prince while you are still young, because as you grow older, you may not remember anymore, and become one of thhem, the 'grown-ups'.    hide

I do very admire that my sister can read the French version.... Excerpts from the book: I did not know what to say to him. I felt awkward and blundering. I did not know how I could reach him where I could overtake him and go on hand in hand with him once more. It is such a secret place, the land of tears. ********************** To those who understand life, that would have given a much greater air of truth to my story. For I do not want any one to read my book carelessly. I have suffered too much grief in setting down these memories.    hide
