Though not as great a work by Charlotte Bronte as Jane Eyre, but it does not disappoint Bronte fans.In any case 'Jane Eyre' is a very tough book to beat.

Reading Charlotte is always a pleasure. Realistic hero, who isn't really a hero, but provides an interesting narration from a male's point of view.

My favorite of her books...this unpopular little tale glimmers delightfully intact character from every line. I got this on CD and listened to it while painting - a droll englishman with an olde world accent like I hvae not heard since my great Uncle Jack was alive read it. We mental travellers will enjoy this slice of the earlier world of men.

An enjoyable book. You can see Charlotte Bronte's style emerging and taking shape. I didn't find it as good as Jane Eyre, but it was a great chance to read something else by such a wonderful author
