My summer Austen reading for 2009--short and sweet. Catherine is probably the most naive and innocent character I've encountered in an Austen novel yet. Henry Tilney another Darcy!

I must be the only person who prefers Tilney over Darcy!

Obviously NA is still fantastic but I had no idea that some of the others were unfinished - just as I was getting into them, they stopped!

I found this book delightfully entertaining. Austen deftly shows how the characters' actions and motivations directly contradict their words. Her style is brilliant, contrasting the hypocritical manners of some characters against the puzzled sincerity of the heroine, who takes everyone at their word.
