I found this book delightfully entertaining. Austen deftly shows how the characters' actions and motivations directly contradict their words. Her style is brilliant, contrasting the hypocritical manners of some characters against the puzzled sincerity of the heroine, who takes everyone at their word. Mr Tilney, as the hero, was more fun and witty than I could have imagined from Austen....
